We were absolutely thrilled to win the Safety Innovation Award at last night's Site Safe Awards.
Just being nominated alongside such prestigious companies like Fulton Hogan and Beon Energy Solutions was amazing in itself, but to win the award was just the icing on the cake.
We received this award following the implementation of our robotic cone trucks last year.
When we looked at the injuries that could have been prevented through people not being on the back of trucks dropping road cones, we knew there had to be a better way. To eliminate all the risk, we simply took the people off the trucks and out of harm’s way. Not only does this make things a lot safer but it also enables our people to do other more rewarding work.
As with any innovation, it takes a team effort. We would simply not have received this award without our business owners backing the project or our team getting the trucks out on the road and training our people how to use them.
Last night was a true celebration not just of our award but of acknowledging excellence in health, safety, and wellbeing across our entire industry. We truly are among fine company in that regard.
