Giving back to our local communities

Thanks to the Fuel for Schools programme, we partnered with Obertech Group to give back.

Traffic Safe NZ partnered with our supplier, Fern Energy, and their sponsorship programme ‘Fuel for Schools', to give back to the local communities we serve.

The Programme is very simple. Customers nominate a participating school to receive 50 cents for every 100L of bulk fuel. Once they reach their target, this can be redeemed for products from the variety of technology, sports, or literature packages on offer. It’s that simple.

Fern Energy’s sponsorship programme “Fuel for Schools” helps deliver resources to rural schools. They work with schools to ensure the correct resources are being channelled back into the community, and this uniquely designed sponsorship programme has helped put over $1.6 million of resources into more than 600 rural schools in the last fifteen years.

As a Fern Energy customer, and in the spirit of "keeping the wheels turning as we give back to the local community”, Traffic Safe NZ converted our spend into a dollar donation.

We approached our local customer Obertech Group, asking them to partner with us, and nominate a local school.

Normanby School redeemed their donation with awesome gear - padding for their rugby poles, a rugby field corner flash, a speaker, and a microphone, valued at $2,000. The goodies were presented at assembly by Dean Prince from Obertech Group, Pierre Crous and Nathan Davis from Traffic Safe NZ, and Greg Rowlands and Richard Weir from Fern Energy. Andrew Lodge, Normanby School Principal accepted the goods, saying, “Thanks, it was great to have you at assembly and supporting our little school, we really appreciate it.“

We would like to thank our partners Obertech Group and Fern Energy for their contribution and wish Andrew and Normanby School all the best for the future!
