Traffic Safe NZ gets a seat at the table

The TTM Industry has established a Road Worker Safety Governance Group with a focus on safety for everyone on the road corridor.

The newly created Road Worker Safety Governance Group’s focus will be on how traffic management keeps road workers and road users safe and well at work sites, and their priority will be to support the implementation of a new approach to TTM, an industry-led risk-based model.

In April 2023, the Temporary Traffic Management Steering Group announced their chosen representatives, and we are proud to announce that Traffic Safe NZ MD, Karl Hitchcock has been chosen to be part of the Steering Group.

Karl has been involved in the TTM industry for over 10 years and has extensive operational and field experience; and still actually spends time on the ground. Developing and refining TTM vehicles, and equipment has been a passion of Karl’s from the beginning, saying that “providing safe work environments for TM crews and the public is the highest priority for Traffic Safe NZ.”

All interested parties wanting to have input with the implementation of the New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management, should get in touch with their industry representative for more information.
